Jami is a Physical Therapist with 25 years of experience. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from St. Louis University and is also an AAAASF Surveyor. Jami started her career in a hospital setting on an acute rehab floor and has since worked as a treating clinician in SNFs, as a lead therapist at an ALF, and as an agency administrator. You are likely to find Jami shopping or at the baseball field watching her sons play. Jami currently lives with her husband and their two children.
Aaron is a Board-Certified Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy and has worked with seniors in long-term care throughout his clinical career. Through clinical specialization, Aaron has developed diverse therapeutic expertise including chronic disease management, orthopedics, neurology, obesity and wellness, and dementia within the geriatric population. Aaron completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at The Ohio State University, is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy, and has multiple research publications on neuromuscular control and therapeutic intervention. In addition to his interest in geriatric care, Aaron enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and barbecuing. Aaron resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife, daughter, and Australian Shepherd.
Mavis is a Speech-Language Pathologist who brings a vast array of skills, knowledge, and passion for her field to the team. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Northwestern University, a Master of Arts in Communication Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh, and has completed pre-doctoral coursework in Leadership. Mavis has more than four decades in her profession and is a Life Member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence.
Mavis has experience working in hospitals, home health settings, clinics, schools, and private settings. Mavis maintained a geriatric rehab caseload while maintaining a career as an elementary, middle, and high school principal. Mavis specializes in neurologic disorders, strokes, Parkinson’s Disease, dysphagia (swallowing disorders), and dementia. She is a past national president for the Corporate Speech Pathology Network and was instrumental in establishing the early inclusion of outpatient therapy programs in skilled nursing and assisted living communities throughout the country. She is married to Frank, has 7 children and 11 grandchildren. In her free time, Mavis enjoys watching NFL Football, doing needlepoint, and playing with her Plott Hound, Bella.
Caitlin is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Area Rehab Director with over nine years of experience in the rehabilitation industry. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Kansas State University. Caitlin has clinical interests in cognitive communication disorders and Parkinson Disease and is an active volunteer for the American Parkinson Disease Association in St. Louis. Caitlin is also certified in the SPEAK OUT! Voice Therapy Program and has been awarded multiple grands by the non-profit Parkinson Voice Project in recognition of her advocacy. Her personal interests include travel, and she is even a dual citizen of both the United States and Ireland. Caitlin is a St. Louis native and currently lives in Ballwin, Missouri with her husband and two children.
Amanda is a Speech Language Pathologist with 10 years of experience working with geriatrics in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care settings as a Treating Clinician, Lead Therapist, and Agency Administrator. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from SIU Edwardsville. Amanda is an active member of ASHA. She is VitalStim and MDTP certified. As the Area Rehab Director, Amanda is able to provide development and oversight of area-wide patient care and operational support to rehab teams, implement clinical programs, and optimize patient’s success. Amanda lives in Waterloo, IL with her husband and three sons. Amanda loves spending time with her family and making memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Stephanie is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 8 years of experience working with the geriatric population and holds a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Rockhurst University. She has participated in ongoing training to further develop her clinical skills in dysphagia, including the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program Certification and VitalStim certification, along with the completion of multiple courses related to the treatment of dementia and staging using the Allen Cognitive Levels. Her current interests include mentoring SLP students and clinicians, developing a strong and growing team with EmpowerMe, as well as spending time with her two young boys, running, and cheering on her favorite St. Louis sports teams. She currently resides in the Kansas City area with her family.
Abby is a Speech-Language Pathologist and holds a certification in the Parkinson’s program, SPEAK OUT!, as well as a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology with a minor in Gerontology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Abby has worked in a variety of therapy settings including acute rehab, skilled nursing, outpatient, and assisted and independent living communities. She enjoys helping adults continue to communicate with their loved ones throughout the ageing process, and her personal interests include spending time with her growing family, going to the family lake house, and being outdoors with her dog, Odie.
Bridget is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 10 years of experience working with the adult and geriatric populations. She graduated with her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from St. Louis University, is certified in VitalStim and the McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program, and has a place in her heart for residents with cognitive-communication impairments secondary to stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia. Her interests include spending time with her family and working on her running career. Bridget now lives in the Kansas City area with her husband and two young children.
Ashley is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 10 years of experience within the geriatric population and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Wichita State University. She has several certifications for dysphagia and has taken many continuing education courses focusing on the aging process and cognitive communication skills. Ashley has a special passion for persons with dementia as her father is currently living with the disease. She thrives on giving person-centered care, providing education to caregivers, and being a support system for persons with dementia as well as their loved ones. Ashley currently lives in Raymore, Missouri with her husband and their two daughters.
Kelly is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with nearly 3 years of experience working with the geriatric population in a variety of settings, including Outpatient, Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. Kelly received her Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky. Since graduating, Kelly has been an active member of the APTA and KPTA. As an Area Rehab Director, she uses her skills to promote patient-centered and evidence-based care in Central and Eastern Kentucky. Kelly lives in Louisville, KY with her husband and enjoys running, hiking, and biking throughout the area.
Jane is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 14 years of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree from Georgia State University, a Master of Communication Sciences and Disorders degree from The University of Georgia, and is an active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Jane is bilingual in English and Korean, and her interests include spending time with her family outdoors, trying new restaurants, traveling, and volunteering at her church and children’s schools. Jane currently lives in Georgia with her husband, Ben, and their three children.
Courtney is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with nearly 20 years of experience working with the geriatric population. She has worked with patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Outpatient, Inpatient Rehab, and Acute Care. Courtney has worked as a Program Manager, Director of Rehab, and OPT Administrator. She has taken several continuing education courses leading to a certificate in geriatric care, dementia care, and fieldwork education. Courtney is certified in physical agent modalities through PAMCA. She recently graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration. As an Area Director, Courtney will oversee the rehab clinics with focus on developing the rehab team and providing quality patient-centered care. She is passionate about care of the elderly population with a strong focus on individuals with dementia and other cognitive deficits. Courtney believes that education never stops, and it is an important component to be able to continue providing quality care.
Michael received his bachelor’s and master’s degree for Communication Disorder/Speech Pathology from Western Kentucky University. Michael has practiced as a Speech-Language Pathologist for seven years working with pediatrics and adult patients within outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, community living, and memory care settings. His management positions/experience consist of Director of Rehab, Program Director, and Area Rehab Director within Kentucky.

Mallorie MacEachern is a Physical Therapist Assistant who has worked in the older adult community for eight years. She completed her associates degree at Kaskaskia College, and pursued her Bachelor of Science degree from PIMA Medical Institute. She has worked as a Treating Therapist and a Program Manager. Mallorie has always been driven to a level where she can make a difference and be a voice to make change in the therapy world and is truly empowered by this company to be able to achieve that goal. She lives in a small town in southern Illinois with her husband and two daughters. They spend their weekends at the softball field or camping and spending time together.
Sanchia graduated in 2005 from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She decided to study physical therapy to help her grandmother who had generalized rheumatoid arthritis which made moving difficult. She ranked number 1 in the Philippine board exam in 2010. She is passionate in fall prevention and achieving optimal function for all of her patients. Sanchia is a hobby baker and cookie decorator and has two dogs who are very spoiled.
Missy is an Occupational Therapist Assistant with over 24 years of experience working with the geriatric population in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care Settings. She started out as a Treating Therapist in these settings and then took a position as a multi-site manager. Eventually, Missy was promoted to an Area Manager. As an Area Rehab Manager, Missy can carry out her dream of not only helping the geriatric population meet their goals, but also assist EmpowerMe staff in reaching their personal goals as well as the patients. Missy lives in Lexington, IL and enjoys walks with her Labradoodle as well as golfing, and spending time with her two kids.
Michelle has 26 years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist. She has held several leadership positions for a large national therapy provider including Area Director of Operations, Client Liaison, and assist to Denial support.
Michelle graduated from St. Louis University with Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She has spent all of her healthcare career focusing on geriatrics in the hospital, SNF, and AL settings.
She has been married to Andy for over 25 years and has three children: Taylor, Ally and Will. They spend most of their free time at the baseball field with their son, or watching their daughters perform dance at Maryville University.

Keri is an NBCOT registered Occupational Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Specialist. Keri has led the coordination of regional and national partnerships with senior housing operators. As Regional VP, she is focused on excellence and innovation for clinical programming and operations. Prior to joining the team, Keri spent 5 years as a team lead for Brookdale Senior Living and has over 10 years of experience specializing in home health and outpatient geriatric rehabilitation. Keri has recently become Otago certified and is leading the implementation for evidence-based programming across EmpowerMe clinics. Keri resides in Leawood, Kansas with her two children.
Jennifer is an AOTA certified Occupational Therapist and Operations Leader with over 15 years of experience working with the geriatric population. Jennifer holds a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Florida, and has extensive training in neuromuscular intervention including a LSVT-BIG certification. Jennifer is also a PWR! Moves certified therapist, Rock Steady Boxing certified instructor, as well as a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She is currently pursuing continuing education for a certificate in Gerontology from Bellarmine University. Jennifer resides in Louisville, Kentucky with her family.
Jesse is a Physical Therapist with 12 years of clinical experience in the SNF and ALF settings. She has a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Maryville University, is certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation and OTAGO fall prevention, and is an APTA member. Jesse has spent her career providing person-centered care to the senior population and is a passionate advocate for her patients and co-workers. Her interests include being active, spending time outdoors with her family, reading, and watching sappy Hallmark movies. Jesse currently lives in O’Fallon, Missouri with her husband and three children.
Erik has 22 years of clinical experience as a COTA/L with a Master’s in Health Administration from Webster University. He has held several leadership positions for a large national therapy provider recently directing all regulatory compliance for 40 Rehab Agencies.
Erik is currently a Medicare surveyor with AAAASF. He serves on the policy committee with NARA (National Association of Rehab Agencies). He is Accreditation Evaluator of ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education).
Erik lives in Belleville, IL, has been married to Blair for 26 years and has two dogs and a cat. He loves to camp, watch TV, and read.
As Chief Operating Officer, Jeremy is focused on leading EmpowerMe’s organizational development strategy, including culture, people, and processes in addition to the organization’s broader growth strategy. Jeremy has served in numerous business and leadership roles, including coaching and consulting relationships with CEOs, businesses (ranging from closely helds to Fortune 100s), professional sports organizations, and large non-profit organizations. He has a Bachelor’s degree from College of Charleston and a Doctorate degree in Executive Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness from Southern University in Louisville. Jeremy has served as a Visiting Professor of Leadership Development in the Doctoral Program at Southern University and as a Visiting Professor of Advanced Communications in the Master’s program at Covenant Theological Seminary. He currently lives in St. Louis with his wife, Amy, and their three children: Jude (15), Samuel (11), and Kharis (9).
As President and CTO of EmpowerMe, Matthew is focused on building EmpowerMe’s tech-enabled strategy across the organization. Prior to EmpowerMe, Matthew was CEO of Invisibly, a disruptive technology company backed by Founder’s Fund. Prior to Invisibly, Matthew founded Contegix, an award-winning, managed hosting, cloud computing, and colocation service provider in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2016, Matthew merged two companies into Contegix and sold a majority stake to Strattam Capital. He still serves as Vice Chairman. Matthew is a father to three amazing kids, husband to a phenomenal woman, geek, trail runner, and ultramarathoner.
Lucas joined the team in 2020 as Managing Director of EmpowerMe Holdings. Prior to EmpowerMe, Lucas was the Managing Director of Dreampact Ventures, an early-stage Venture Capital firm. Lucas created and ran the Dreampact due diligence and deal flow processes, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the firm. Lucas started his career with J.P. Morgan, where he worked in New York with executive leadership in the Wealth Management business to develop and execute the firm’s highest strategic priorities. Lucas graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
With over 30 years in the rehab industry, Lisa was recruited specifically to lead the launch of EmpowerMe in 2017. Formerly, Lisa spent 20+ years at RehabCare, one of the largest providers of post-acute rehab services in the country. There, as Division VP, she had full P&L responsibility of over 350 clinics located in senior living communities across the Midwest with annual revenue exceeding $120 million. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from St. Louis University and a Master of Business Administration from Maryville University. She has been a licensed PT for 34 years. Lisa lives in Columbia, Illinois on her family horse farm and has two adult children.
Ben Kelly joined EmpowerMe as the Senior Vice President of Sales, and is focused on connecting with Senior Living Operators to bring EmpowerMe’s full suite of services to their residents. Ben is the founder & CEO of Virtual View, a full-service production company created to serve senior living communities looking to market their new communities. Prior to Virtual View, Ben was the SVP Sales at Eldermark Software, a leading Senior Living EHR, where he led the organization’s sales efforts for over ten years.
David joined the EmpowerMe team in 2018 and has led the effort to build robust and scalable financial and reimbursement systems. Prior to joining the team, David spent 15 years as Director of Finance and Operations, reporting to the CEO, for a chain of clinics providing rehab, primary care and pain management services with annual revenue exceeding $20 million. David holds bachelor degrees in both Exercise Physiology and Business Administration from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. He resides in O’Fallon, Illinois with his wife of ten years and three children.
Hayley leads the Human Resources Department and is focused on collaborating with the leadership team to craft the company’s vision and mission in developing strategic HR plans.
Kirsten is a Certified Outpatient Coder with over 17 years of experience directing all aspects of the revenue cycle of outpatient therapy. She holds AAPC and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certifications and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Management from Truman State University. She enjoys the face-paced environment EmpowerMe offers and knowing each part of the company delivers an impeccable service to our senior community. Kirsten lives in St. Louis, MO with her husband and their two children.
Brooke is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with over 12 years of clinical experience in the healthcare field. As the Area Director of Operations, Brooke focuses on fostering relationships at the community level. She obtained her Associates of Applied Science-Physical Therapist Assistant degree and Bachelor of Technical Resource Management from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

Brooke lives in Effingham, Illinois with her husband and two children, Liam and Cameron.
As General Counsel at EmpowerMe, James directs the legal department. Prior to EmpowerMe, James was a founding partner at Kamykowski, Gavin & Smith, where his practice focused on defending healthcare providers in various aspects of civil litigation. During his 20+ years as a defense attorney James also defended large corporations in various legal actions and represented individuals in federal criminal matters, including claims involving anti-kickback issues. James received his undergraduate degree from Maryville University. He received his law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.
Julia is an Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of experience working with older adults in Outpatient, Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care settings as a treating therapist, Rehab Manager, and Rehab Agency Administrator. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Maryville University in St. Louis. Julia is an active member of NARA, AOTA, and MOTA. As the Director of Clinical Services and Wellness Programming, Julia is able to pursue her passion of lifelong learning and educating others on literature and evidence to achieve clinical excellence. Julia lives in St. Charles, MO with her husband, son, daughter, and Golden Retriever.
Sarah joined EmpowerMe Wellness in January 2018. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Missouri – Columbia, and a Master of Health Administration from Webster University. She previously worked at one of the largest rehabilitation companies as a customer service team lead in the revenue cycle department. Sarah has extensive knowledge in outpatient billing and data analytics. She lives in Saint Louis, MO with her fiancé and husky.
As the Corporate Director of Marketing and Communications, Tara brings over 15 years of marketing experience. She leads the company’s marketing communications efforts and shares EmpowerMe’s passion and mission in the relentless pursuit of opportunities to improve the lives of seniors. Prior to EmpowerMe, Tara was a Senior Marketing Manager at AG Industries-Filtration Group, a manufacturer and distributor of respiratory filters and consumables. In addition to her tenure in the healthcare industry, Tara held marketing positions for over 10 years in the heavy-civil transportation industry for major transportation projects. She graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and resides with her husband in University City, MO.
Mike has been in the Information Technology field for over 20 years. He obtained his master’s degree in Information Security Management from Lindenwood University in St Charles, MO. He retired from the U.S. Navy with more than 20 years of service. Mike is an active member of ISC2, Infragard, and VFW. Mike lives in the St. Louis area with his wife, son, three dogs and two cats.
Paula Vazquez is the Director of Recruiting and is responsible for the oversight and management of all recruitment efforts at EmpowerMe.
Brent is a Physical Therapy Assistant with over seven years of experience working with the geriatric population in long-term care communities. He has obtained his Associate of Applied Science from Southwestern Illinois College and is currently working to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership. His interests include running and spending time with his family. Brent currently resides in Mascoutah, IL with his wife, son, and two daughters.
Josh is an established executive and entrepreneur in the senior living and care industry with a passion for improving the lives of elders. After joining St. Louis-based Dover Development as employee #1, he led its transformation from a sole-proprietorship to what is now known as the Dover Companies (“DC”), a fully integrated developer, constructor, investor, owner and operator of senior living and senior care businesses. As Chief Operating Officer of DC, Josh co-founded four of its now seven business units, including its flagship operating company, Cedarhurst Senior Living (“CSL”), of which he served as President.
During his tenure at DC and CSL, the company grew from having been the merchant developer and owner of two communities to operating 41 communities in eight states with more than 2,400 employees. Josh accepted a buyout at DC and CSL in August 2020 to focus on his passion for growing EmpowerMe Wellness.
Josh’s dedication to serving seniors began more than 16 years ago when he spent several years working on the front lines of hospice agencies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Eastern Illinois University and a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to undergraduate studies, Josh was an enlisted member of the United States Marine Corps. He resides in St. Louis, Missouri, with his wife of 14 years and two children. He is a long-standing member of The Journey Church in the City of St. Louis.
